KDE User Research Profiles: The PURP
Being true to my promise last week, here is this week’s project pick for beginning their user research profiles:
Plasma already has a head start, last week Aaron copied the template over to the Plasma section on techbase: Plasma User Research Profile (PURP). This will be a great activity to work on at the upcoming Plasma meeting in Milan. If you have any questions, feel free to ping me.

Don’t you mean Plasma User Research Profile?
Second copy & paste:

;)
@eli: Right you are. Fixed.
@pinotree: Yay! (good thinking, because Okular was going to be next week ;)
FYI. Hello, Plasma. Mercurial called. They want their logo back. :-)
@AurGlass: Hello, Mercurial. Plasma called. They want their logo back. :) What I mean to say is that the Plasma logo is older, it has been on http://plasma.kde.org/ for a long time. Whereas the Mercurial logo was only just introduced with version 1.0 as far as I know.
@AurGlass, Robin: Right on topic! I clearly see how I can improve usability with your using info in your posts. Thanks a lot… err… NOT! Please stay on topic.
@Celeste:
As a fresh newbie developer with an unclear idea about my application, how do I start doing user research on it? I don’t have an easy step by step guide up my sleeve. Could you please help pointing a usability guide for newbie developers?
Reasons why is this important:
* new developers come all the time, teaching usability only to `old hands` is an infinite process - you always have new ones to teach;
* newbies have few (bad) habits about developing free software, and would certainly help learning the right ones from the start.
Thanks a lot!
