5 artists 5 songs

From Jacqueline: List your five favourite artists, your five favourite songs by those artists and tag five other people to do it.

This took me all weekend to think about. I can’t commit that these are my favourite 5 artists and favourite 5 songs ever, but they are certainly in any top list I compile.

Nine Inch Nails

  • Closer
  • Hurt
  • The entire The Fragile album
  • My Violent Heart
  • Meet Your Master

Tool

  • H.
  • Jimmy
  • Lateralus
  • The Grudge
  • 10,000 Days

Radiohead

  • Lucky
  • Morning Bell
  • I Might Be Wrong
  • Where I End and You Begin
  • There There

BT
Nothing of his is better than the 5 song sequence in the UK release of Movement in Still Life.

  • Mercury and Solace
  • Dreaming
  • Giving up the Ghost
  • Godspeed
  • Namistai

(Unknown)
I have too many other artists who would tie for this position. Also, they haven’t made as much of an impression as the previously selected artists, or, do not have enough material to select five songs from.

Also, since not everyone blogs off-topic, so I’ll just ask my five other people to post a comment response (and whoever else who wants to!): Bokunenjin, Chani, JRiddell, Lowmagnet, and Nixternal.

    Wahoo! Another BT fan! :)

If you haven’t already, I strongly suggest a listening to This Binary Universe /definitely/ in 5.1 Surround. What a fantastic album!

Can we get some Muse love? The recent Black Holes and Revelations album is a must.

Yay! Two fellow BT fans! I have This Binary Universe, but never have had the opportunity to listen to it in 5.1 surround :( I’d probably say that it’s my all-time favourite album, even though I haven’t heard it in its full glory.

@Ruairi and Michael: I went to the screening of This Binary Universe when is showed in Bethesda (Rockville, the next town over in the DC Metro area, is BT’s hometown) :)

@Bob: Muse would have been on there if it were a top 10. They’re good, but I can’t put them on the same level as these artists.

Aaaargh, I have just lost the first hour of the working day to this and I’m still nowhere near close to being satisfied with my list of lists. However, here we go anyway (in no particular order):

Radiohead: My Iron Lung, Electioneering, Fake Plastic Trees, A Wolf at the Door, Pyramid Song

Led Zeppelin: Rain Song, Immigrant Song, Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, Achilles Last Stand, In My Time of Dying

The Smiths: The Queen is Dead, How Soon is Now?, Ask Me Ask Me Ask Me, Bigmouth Strikes Again, Panic

Rage Against the Machine: Killing in the Name, Ashes in the Fall, Know Your Enemy, Bulls on Parade, Tire Me

The Band: The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, The Weight, Shape I’m In, Stage Fright, It Makes No Difference
