Design, WordPress, & Google’s SoC

My application for the Google Summer of Code student project was accepted! The short description of my project is to find three ways to improve WordPress. To accomplish this, I plan to do a competitive analysis of WordPress and three of its competitors and keep in mind functionality, suitability, and usability. The results will help form ideas which will then be designed and prototyped for integration into WordPress.

I will be mentored by Matt Mullenweg of WordPress. Read more at the SoC project page: WordPress Market and Suitability Research and Prototyping

In addition to a nice stipend, I will be able to use this project for my last few credits towards my graduate degree at the University of Baltimore.

    @Lynoure

    I’m not yet sure which product I will be reviewing, but as long as life doesn’t get too crazy I will probably blog about my progress.

    That’s great! I look forward to reading it when it comes out. Will you be blogging about your study while it’s in progress?
