Female Kernel Hacker Is.. A Man?

October 9th, 2006  | Categories: Asides, Humor, Open Source

I got this from the LxCx wire: This guy Val apparently posed as a woman and tried (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) to make contributions to the Linux community. He was “unmasked” after one of his patches got applied to the kernel.

“… It was pretty hard keeping up the pretense of being a female Linux kernel hacker, since everyone knows they don’t exist.”

Grr… even more annoying is the digg post he links to. I don’t care if you point out the growths on my chest look good in a sweater, but implying the amount of estrogen in my body effects my logical processes.. *shakes fists*

Update: Apparently Val as a man is a joke (shows you how much I know about LinuxChix :-P) but the digg post is not.
