What is obso1337?
The name obso1337 originally came from my interest in old and abandoned hardware I ressurected and put back in to good use. obso1337.org was originally hosted on an old Sparc20 I had picked up at the goodwill computer store while I was a sophomore in college. Although “Hal” is now in a closet and obso1337.org is currently hosted on a more reliable connection than Duquesne’s then unstable student network, the old school spirit still holds.
From BBS to IRC, communication has evolved to a secure SILC network as most of us move away from the PGH hub and relocate across the country. Through a scattering of networks the group maintains contact while spanning the U.S. as far south as North Carolina, west as California and north as Pittsburgh.
