Book Challenge
Today I finished The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was a cute and whimsey story, but I find Tolkien’s writing style rather annoying. His style is more difficult to adjust to than William Gibson. There are also a lot of characters to keep track of which is a gripe for some Tolkien readers. Nevertheless it was a cute story, however I will not be reading the Lord of the Rings series.

Ugh, I read lotr once, and I can’t bring myself to do it again. boring, boring, and boring are the three main feature of the novel. It makes a nice movie, but poor reading. There is even more of the ‘too many characters’ in this book. The hobbit was good though, and I enjoyed reading it.
I dont disagree that The Hobbit was a good story, I just find his language annoying. With his “rather” and “bother”s, I feel like Im reading an old Whinne the Pooh tale or something.
