Yahoo! Maps User Test

Friday, before heading to Pittsburgh, I had my first experience with the Yahoo! Maps traffic report. I was less than impressed with their execution. When I realised how bad the interface really was, I began recording my actions and ended up with a mini user-test.

Book Challenge

On the way to Pittsburgh this weekend, I finished Asimov’s second robot novel (I Robot was a collection of stories and not part of the series) The Naked Sun. I was not disappointed.

Book Challenge

This morning on the metro I finished Asimov’s Caves of Steel the second book in the Robot novel series. It was, just as the first robot novel, very good. The story was engaging and full of plot twists, and it included a healthy amount of drama, sci-fi and robot psychology.

New: 7/10
Old: 2/10

Book Challenge

The Metro is a great place to read. Yesterday, I finished the first robot book I Robot by Isaac Asimov. It was a very good story and very good science fiction. I was beginning to lose faith in being able to be entertained by fiction, but I think I am just picky about the topic. I am now working on the rest of the Robot Novels.

Happy Pi Day

As many of you may (or may not) know, today is March 14 (3/14), Pi Day!

My fondest memory of Pi Day is walking about CMU’s campus on March 14th, not knowing it was Pi Day until I saw a string of numbers written in chalk on the sidewalk encircling the campus.
