The Day After..
I am very disappointed in the election. Some of my friends have gone on to write entries expressing their feelings about the election. Some rant about it on SILC. All and all, we as a country have lost and should prepare ourselves for another four years of a “terror”-driven war era.
A little while ago I shared a conversation I had about the election with my grandmother. After thinking about the states of the Senate and House elections, Kerry would have had a very difficult time getting anything done. This doesnt make the outcome of the election any better and certainly isnt meant to downplay how serious GW’s re-election is, but what sense is holding Kerry up to his promises if hes unable to push anything through the Senate in order to get it done? It would just damage the Democratic agenda and reassure the Republicans an additional term.
Those of you interested in the election stats, CNN has a pretty concise statistical summary of the exit polls. I am a little disappointed my age group didnt pull together more than it did.
So tonight when you get home from work, make yourself a stiff drink and try to remain positive about American democracy.
Grandma Theory is in effect.
Interesting exit poll results
