This editorial was spawned after realising that many companies do not know their options when it comes to simple Windows applications. Obviously most use the pre-installed “recommended” applications, which include Microsoft’s Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express.. the list could go on forever. There are comparable Open Source alternatives. This piece does not go into details, but lays out a nice example you can go and show your boss.
